Diabetes Projects Trust has the following aims.
PREVENTION - reduce the number of people developing diabetes and lessen the damage diabetes can cause.
HEALTH PROMOTION - Lower the health risk factors, including obesity, poor eating habits and inactive lifestyle.
EMPOWERMENT - 'Help people help themselves' by offering support, training and contacts for community support groups.
DIABETES AWARENESS - Encourage the community to better understand the needs of people with diabetes or at risk of developing diabetes.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT & SUPPORT - Help health professionals measure and improve the care they provide to people with diabetes.
RESEARCH - Carry out and support research and share the information to benefit the community.
